AI and Machine Learning

ClaimLedger AI sends some of your content to a third-party AI provider in order to read it for you. This happens when you use:

• Receipt scanning, which sends the receipt image to be read
• Policy parsing, which sends text extracted from your policy document
• Valuation suggestions, which send the description, age and condition of a single item
• Document search and summarisation within your document vault

We do not train any model on your data. The provider processes what we send it under its own API terms and does not use it to train its models. Nothing is sent unless you use one of the features above — nothing in your account is scanned in the background.

To avoid asking the provider the same question twice, we cache some results: a successful receipt reading is stored against a fingerprint of the image, and a valuation suggestion is stored against a fingerprint of the item's details. Re-uploading the same photograph reuses the stored result rather than sending it again.

Every AI result is a suggestion you confirm, not a decision we make for you. Coverage limits read out of your policy do not take effect until you review and confirm them. See our Disclaimers for the limits of these features.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

We do not send your claim information to your insurance company. Reports and exports are generated for you to download and share yourself; nothing leaves your account on its own.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Generated claim reports are an exception, and deliberately short-lived: a rendered PDF and its download link expire within 24 hours of being produced, after which the file is deleted. A report names you and itemises your household, so we do not keep one lying around longer than it takes you to download it. The underlying data stays in your account; you can generate a fresh report at any time.
